How often is Slewing Ring Bearing maintained? Slewing Ring Bearing Maintenance Precautions

2022-09-14

After using Slewing Ring Bearing for a period of time, various problems such as noise, vibration, and temperature rise will occur. In this case, in order to prolong the bearing life, the Slewing Ring Bearing must be regularly maintained, so as to prolong the service life of the Slewing Ring Bearing. So how often is Slewing Ring Bearing maintained? What is the maintenance method? What else should we pay attention to when maintaining? Today Zhiyuan factory will introduce the maintenance cycle and method of Slewing Ring Bearing. I hope everyone has to help.

Slewing Ring Bearing

1. Slewing Ring Bearing maintenance cycle

How often are swivel support bearings maintained? The maintenance time of Slewing Ring Bearing is the same as that of ordinary bearings. In theory, it can be used for 20,000-80,000 hours, but the specific life depends on wear during use, work intensity, and post-maintenance. Among them, maintenance is an important part of extending bearing life. Next, I will learn the maintenance of Slewing Ring Bearing from cleaning, rust removal, etc.

Second, the maintenance method of Slewing Ring Bearing

1. Slewing Ring Bearing cleaning

The impact of cleanliness on the life of Slewing Bearing is quite large. The higher the cleanliness of the bearing, the longer the life. The lubricating oil with different cleanliness has no effect on the bearing life. Therefore, improving the cleanliness of the lubricating oil can prolong the life of the bearing. If the dirt particles in the lubricating oil are controlled below 10um, the life of the bearing will be extended several times. So, how do you clean a specific bearing? Let's look down.

(1) The bearing cleaning is carried out by rough washing and precision washing, and a metal mesh can be placed at the bottom of the container in use.

(2) When rough washing, use an oil brush, etc. to remove grease or attachments. At this time, if the bearing is rotated in oil, pay attention to the surface that causes rolling by foreign objects, etc.

(3) When washing your face, slowly turn the bearing in the oil and do it carefully. Commonly used detergents are neutral anhydrous diesel or kerosene, and warm lye is used as needed. Whatever detergent you use, filter it often to keep it clean. Apply anti-rust oil or anti-rust paper to the bearing immediately after cleaning.

2. Bearing rust removal

(1) Brushing method: It is not suitable for outdoor construction equipment or special forms of products immersed in water or spray. When brushing, be careful not to accumulate and prevent leakage.

(2) Immersion method: some small items are immersed in non-rusting oil, and the cross-tapered roller bearing uses the method of pasting non-rusting oil on the surface. Oil film thickness can be obtained by controlling the temperature or viscosity of the rust preventive oil.

(3) Spray method: Some large anti-rust materials cannot be oiled by immersion method, and the bearing is generally sprayed with filtered compressed air with a pressure of about 0.7Mpa to the place where the air is clean. The spray method is suitable for solvent-diluted antirust oil or thin antirust oil, but perfect fire prevention and labor protection measures should be taken.

3. Bearing lubrication

(1) Manual lubrication: This is a relatively primitive method. When the bearing lubricating oil is insufficient, the oiler is used to supply oil. But this approach makes it difficult to maintain traffic. Because of the dangers of ignoring refueling, it is usually best to use only on hardwoods, low speeds, or intermittent motion. It is best to install a dust cover or ball valve in the oiler, and use felt, cotton, wool, etc. as a filter device.

(2) Point lubrication: generally used for light-loaded and heavy-loaded bearings with a peripheral speed of less than 4 ~ 5M/S, providing a roughly quantitative amount of lubricating oil at the holes, pins, valves, etc. of the container. A typical drip cup will vary widely in drip volume due to lubricant viscosity, bearing clearance, and oil supply hole location.

(3) Oil ring lubrication: a rotatable ring hung on the shaft to guide the lubricating oil in the oil pool into the bearing (only applicable to the lubrication method of the horizontal shaft). Suitable for medium and high speed bearings with shaft diameters greater than 50 mm. The oil ring is recommended to be smooth. When the bearing aspect ratio is less than 2, only one oil ring can be used. Otherwise two oil rings are required.

(4) Oil rope lubrication: Under the action of the capillary and siphon of the oil rope, the lubricating oil of the oil cup is guided to the bearing. It is mainly used for light-load and heavy-load bearings whose peripheral speed is less than 4 ~ 5M/S. It acts as a filter throughout the process.

(5) Oil pad lubrication: Use the capillary action of the oil pad to apply the lubricating oil in the oil pool to the surface of the shaft diameter, and often keep the friction surface clean, but the dust will also block the pores, resulting in insufficient oil supply. The flow rate of oil pad lubrication is usually only 1/20 of that of oil lubrication.

3. Slewing Ring Bearing Maintenance Precautions

1. Cleaning precautions

(1) Qualified new bearings are not clean. Qualified new bearings are not clean under normal use conditions (motors with more than two poles). Newly sealed bearings are dirty.

(2) It must be cleaned before changing the oil. The bearing caps and bearings must be cleaned before changing the bearing oil. Cleaning is divided into rough washing and fine washing. The oil used for rough washing is divided into clean diesel oil or kerosene, and the oil used for refining is divided into clean gasoline.

(3) Inspection during cleaning: After the bearing is cleaned, rotate it by hand, and you can flexibly use the radial and axial shaking of the hand, and judge in advance whether it is loose or the interval is too large. Check clearance if necessary. Severe wear, corrosion and metal peeling such as ball or roller cage replacement are found necessary.

(4) Dry the things on your hands after cleaning: After the bearing is cleaned and inspected, wipe the cleaning agent (or dry) with a white cloth, and add qualified grease. Other types of grease cannot be added to the same bearing.

2. Precautions for rust removal

(1) Selection of rust removal liquid: Please note that sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, dilute sulfuric acid, dilute hydrochloric acid and other acids cannot be used for bearing rust removal. These acids will destroy good metal parts, so these kinds of liquids should not be used!

(2) Selection of rust removal methods: several common rust removal methods introduced above, including water immersion method, brush method, spray method, etc. It can be selected according to the actual situation of the bearing, but no matter what method is used, the bearing must be protected. Repairs can damage bearings.

3. Lubrication precautions

(1) When refueling, it is forbidden to have dust in the surrounding environment. Refuel with clean hands, slowly turn the entire bearing with one hand, and add hydraulic pressure in the bearing gap with the middle and index fingers of the other hand. Add one side and proceed to the other side, removing excess oil.

(2) Main flow of bearing and bearing cover: the flow of bearing cover is 1/2-2/3 of the capacity of bearing cover (the upper limit of the number of motor poles). Bearing oil 1/2-2/3 of the inner and outer annular cavity of the bearing (the upper limit of the number of motor poles).

How often is Slewing Ring Bearing maintained

The above is the summary of the maintenance period, maintenance period and method of Slewing Ring Bearing for everyone. It is understood that the general Slewing Ring Bearing maintenance once every 20,000-80,000 hours. The specific time should be determined according to the actual situation. Maintenance methods include regular cleaning, effective rust removal, and reasonable lubrication. Extending the life of the Slewing Ring Bearing requires more effort. If you have any questions during the maintenance of Slewing Ring Bearing, you can contact Zhiyuan Slewing Bearing Manufacturers, we will reply you in time.
